Alumni & Career Center Department in collaboration with Psychology Study Program and Orchardz Hotel Jayakarta organized a seminar with the theme “CV CANTIK, HRD TERTARIK”. This seminar activity was held on November 14th 2023 at 2:00 pm at The UBM Seminar Room, Ancol Campus. The event commenced with an ice-breaking session hosted by the master of ceremony, Steven. Attendees were invited to stand up and stretch, and a few humorous anecdotes were shared to create a relaxed atmosphere. Following the ice-breaking, Ms. Tiurma Melyanni, the Human Resources Manager of Orchardz Hotel Jayakarta, delivered a presentation on the seminar theme. Orchardz Hotel Jayakarta, a 4-star business and a member of the Orchardz Hotel Group Jakarta, provided seminar material to attendees.

During the presentation, Ms. Tiurma provided valuable insights on creating a great CV for job applications. She explained that there are two types of CVs, namely creative CVs and ATS CVs. Creative CVs are best used when meeting with recruiters or sending an email application, while ATS CVs are the ideal choice when applying through the company website. Ms. Tiurma emphasized the importance of showcasing one’s true self in the CV and avoiding copy-pasting from templates or other sources. All information included in the CV should be accurate, reliable, and authentic. Ms. Tiurma also shared tips on how to create a good and correct CV, including examples of creative and ATS CVs. Lastly, Ms. Tiurma reminded the participants that recruiters typically verify applicants’ social media presence, such as Instagram, LinkedIn, or TikTok, in addition to evaluating the provided CV. Overall, Ms. Tiurma’s presentation was very constructive and insightful for anyone looking to create an effective CV for job applications.

The presentation concluded with a heartwarming activity led by Ms. Tiurma, where students were encouraged to work together and make different animal sounds. The activity conveyed a powerful message that when people work together as a team, even with different roles and responsibilities, it can be fun and rewarding. The session ended with Ms. Lidia Kastanja, S.Psi., M.Si presenting a Token of Appreciation to Mrs. Tiurma Melyanni, the Human Resources Manager at Orchardz Hotel Jayakarta, and the students left feeling inspired and motivated to work together as a team.
