[Release] Coaching Clinic “Empowering Students for Success: Mastering the Internship Preparation”

Jakarta, April 25th , 2025 — The Alumni & Career Center Department of Bunda Mulia University (UBM) together with the Hospitality and Tourism Study Program are proud to hold a Coaching Clinic event themed “Empowering Students for Success: Mastering the Internship Preparation”. This event aims to provide knowledge, skills, and strategies needed to face the internship process professionally and confidently.

The event began with a welcoming speech from Antonius Rizki Krisnadi, SST.Par., M.M.Par. as the Head of the Hospitality & Tourism Study Program – Bunda Mulia University. The next session was an interactive talk show hosted by Mr. Ignatius Adrian Mastan, S.E., S.Kom., S.A.B., M.M., M.Eng. Coordinator of On the Job Training (OJT) Bunda Mulia University, which presented three main speakers: Mr. Romario Garcia, Senior Learning & Development Manager – Swissôtel Jakarta PIK Avenue, Ms. Lulu – Guest Relation Officer, Grand Orchardz Kemayoran Jakarta (Hospitality and Tourism Study Program Alumni, Ancol Campus, Class of 2020) and Mr. Garry Ardhinata – Revenue & E-Commerce Manager, Sunlake Waterfront Resort & Convention (Hospitality and Tourism Study Program Alumni, Ancol Campus, Class of 2017). The speakers discussed in depth the challenges during the internship, tips and tricks for internships in companies, and internship experiences in companies.

In the core discussion of the event, the speakers provided information about the organizational culture in the company, as conveyed by Mr. Romario Garcia, it is hoped that students can adjust to the organizational culture of the internship location and can adapt to the situation of the internship location. Thus, internship activities are not only used as a routine in completing lectures, but also absorb more knowledge gained during the internship and can develop skills and knowledge while participating in the internship at the company.

However, several challenges and obstacles will face by student interns. The speakers conveyed several views as well as tips and tricks to be able to face challenges and how to solve problems encountered during the internship at the company. Ms. Lulu and Mr. Garry Ardhinata also shared their internship experiences and discussed how they overcame issues during their internship at the company. Thus, this Coaching Clinic event is expected to provide valuable insights and knowledge regarding internship preparation for students in the Hospitality and Tourism study program for the upcoming semester. The event continued with a Q&A session and a short discussion between the speakers, moderator and student participants of the Coaching Clinic. The next event was the handover of tokens of appreciation to the speakers, given by Ms. Regina Dewi Hanifah, Manager of the Alumni & Career Center.

With the implementation of this Coaching Clinic activity, students will not only gain a deeper understanding of the process and challenges of the internship world, but also be able to build their mental, technical, and professional readiness, equipping them with practical skills for their future careers. This activity is one of the real steps in supporting the development of students’ careers from an early age, while strengthening the role of universities in producing graduates who are ready to compete in the world of work.

Jakarta, 25 April 2025 — Departemen Alumni & Career Center Universitas Bunda Mulia (UBM) bersama dengan Prodi Hospitality dan Pariwisata dengan bangga menyelenggarakan acara Coaching Clinic yang bertemakan “Empowering Students for Success: Mastering the Internship Preparation”. Acara ini bertujuan untuk memberikan pembekalan pengetahuan, keterampilan, dan strategi yang dibutuhkan untuk menghadapi proses magang secara profesional dan percaya diri.

Acara dimulai dengan kata sambutan dari Antonius Rizki Krisnadi, SST.Par., M.M.Par. selaku Kepala Program Studi Hospitality & Pariwisata – Universitas Bunda Mulia. Sesi berikutnya adalah talkshow interaktif yang dipandu oleh Bapak Ignatius Adrian Mastan, S.E., S.Kom., S.A.B., M.M., M.Eng. Koordinator On the Job Training (OJT) Universitas Bunda Mulia, yang menghadirkan tiga narasumber utama: Bapak Romario Garcia, Senior Learning & Development Manager – Swissôtel Jakarta PIK Avenue, Ibu Lulu – Guest Relation Officer, Grand Orchardz Kemayoran Jakarta (Alumni Program Study Hospitality dan Pariwisata Kampus Ancol Angkatan 2020) dan Bapak Garry Ardhinata – Revenue & E-Commerce Manager, Sunlake Waterfront Resort & Convention (Alumni Program Study Hospitality dan Pariwisata Kampus Ancol Angkatan 2017). Para narasumber membahas secara mendalam bagaimana tantangan saat magang, tips dan trik magang di perusahaan, dan pengalaman magang di perusahaan.

Dalam pembahasan inti acara, para pembicara memberikan informasi perihal bagaimana budaya organisasi di perusahaan, seperti yang disampaikan oleh Bapak Romario Garcia diharapkan mahasiswa dapat menyesuaikan diri dengan budaya organisasi tempat magang dan dapat beradaptasi dengan situasi tempat magang. Dengan demikian, kegiatan magang tidak hanya dijadikan sebagai rutinitas dalam menyelesaikan kuliah, tetapi lebih banyak menyerap ilmu yang diperoleh selama magang dan dapat mengembangkan kemampuan dan pengetahuan selama mengikuti magang di perusahaan. 

Namun demikian, terdapat beberapa tantangan dan hambatan yang akan dilalui oleh mahasiswa peserta magang. Para pembicara menyampaikan beberapa pandangan serta tips dan trik untuk dapat menghadapi tantangan dan bagaimana menyelesaikan permasalahan yang dihadapi saat pelaksanaan magang di perusahaan. Ibu Lulu dan Bapak Garry Ardhinata juga menyampaikan pengalaman magang mereka dan bagaimana cara mengatasi permasalahan selama magang di perusahaan. Acara Coaching Clinic ini diharapkan dapat memberikan wawasan dan pengetahuan mengenai persiapan magang mahasiswa program Studi Hospitality dan Pariwisata di semester mendatang. Acara dilanjutkan dengan sesi Q&A dan diskusi singkat antara pembicara dengan moderator dan mahasiswa peserta Coaching Clinic. Acara selanjutnya penyerahan token of appreciation kepada narasumber yang diberikan oleh Ibu Regina Dewi Hanifah, selaku Manager Alumni & Career Center. 

Dengan terselenggaranya kegiatan Coaching Clinic ini, diharapkan para mahasiswa tidak hanya memperoleh pemahaman yang lebih mendalam mengenai proses dan tantangan dunia magang, tetapi juga mampu membangun kesiapan diri secara mental, teknis, dan profesional. Kegiatan ini menjadi salah satu langkah nyata dalam mendukung pengembangan karier mahasiswa sejak dini, sekaligus memperkuat peran perguruan tinggi dalam mencetak lulusan yang siap bersaing di dunia kerja.
