Jakarta, February 20th, 2025 – The Alumni & Career Center Department of Bunda Mulia University (UBM), together with BM Academy, UBM Postgraduate Program, and UBM Marketing Communication Department, are proud to organize the HR Connected & Alumni Gathering 2025 event with the theme “Future HR: Powered by AI”. The event aims to strengthen the relationship between Bunda Mulia University, partner companies, and UBM alumni, as well as provide in-depth insights into the use of artificial intelligence (AI) in improving the efficiency of HR functions without replacing the role of humans.

The event began with a performance by the Traditional Dance Student Activity Unit, followed by remarks from Ms. Young Dame Rosemerry Napitupulu, S.Psi., MM., as UBM’s Director of Marketing & Facilities. The next session was an interactive talk show hosted by Dr. Hery Heryanto, S.Kom., M.Kom., Head of the UBM AI Study Program, which featured three main speakers: Mr. Adhiguna Mahendra, Director of Data and Artificial Intelligence at the Financial Services Authority (OJK), Mr. Dudi Arisandi, Chief People Officer of Tiket.com, and Mr. Maulidin P. Dhani, Vice President of People Analytic and Enable Management at Telkomsel. The speakers discussed in depth how AI technology has revolutionized the HR sector by improving efficiency, data-driven decision-making, and the role of AI in supporting administrative tasks in HR.

In the core discussion of the event, the speakers highlighted the application of AI in accelerating the recruitment and selection process, automating CV screening tasks, and analyzing employee data to design more effective policies to increase productivity and satisfaction. AI also plays a role in objectively monitoring performance, helping to reduce bias in selection and promotion, and designing personalized training programs based on individual needs.

However, the application of AI in HR faces essential challenges related to the security and privacy of employee data. Therefore, transparency in the use of AI and compliance with applicable privacy laws are crucial aspects. Experts also emphasize that even though AI provides data-based recommendations, the final decision in HR still requires human judgment to avoid algorithmic errors or biases that the system does not detect.

AI is not a substitute for the HR role but a tool to complement and accelerate administrative and analytical processes. The human role in strategic aspects and human relations remains an essential factor in creating a productive and harmonious work environment.

During the event, information related to the collaboration between Bunda Mulia University, the Department of Alumni & Career Center, BM Academy, and Postgraduate Studies was also shared, providing insight into the growing collaboration between educational institutions and industry. In addition, the event also featured a variety of refreshing entertainment, such as performances from BIEFINDC (UBM Modern Dance Student Activity Unit) and The Voice of UBM (UBM Music and Dance Student Activity Unit), which also enlivened the atmosphere.

With the successful organization of HR Connected & Alumni Gathering 2025, this event provided new insights for HR professionals regarding AI’s great potential to increase workplace efficiency. In addition, this event also provided opportunities for participants to expand their professional networks and deepen their understanding of how AI can contribute to HR’s future success. Hopefully, this event will be the first step in creating a more innovative and adaptive HR ecosystem ready to face the ever-evolving challenges of the world of work.
