Jakarta, February 15, 2026 – In an effort to improve participant readiness and skills in conducting each interview stage, the Alumni & Career Center Department participated in an Interview Skills Training program, focusing on understanding the selection and assessment process, professional interview procedures, and interview methods based on the BEI (Behavioral Event Interview) standards. Three Alumni & Career Center staff members participated in this online training on Sunday, February 15, 2026.

This training is designed to provide a comprehensive understanding of the recruitment stages commonly used by companies, from administrative selection, basic ability tests, psychological tests, competency assessments, to the final interview. Participants were equipped with strategies for handling each stage effectively and professionally.

In the presentation session, the speaker comprehensively explained the selection and assessment processes commonly used in various companies. Participants were given an understanding of the recruitment stages, starting with administrative selection, basic ability tests, psychological tests, competency assessments, and final interviews. Furthermore, various types of tests frequently used in the recruitment process were explained, along with strategies for optimal preparation for each selection stage.

Next, material on professional interview procedures was presented in depth. The speaker explained the importance of preparation before the interview, starting with company research, understanding the position being applied for, and preparing supporting documents. Ethics, appearance, body language, and how to build good communication during the interview were also given primary attention. Participants were equipped with techniques for answering questions confidently, coherently, and relevantly, while also understanding common mistakes to avoid to make a professional impression on the interviewer.

In the next session, the speaker introduced the Behavioral Event Interview (BEI) method, a competency-based interview approach widely used by companies. Participants learned the basic concepts of BEI and the STAR (Situation, Task, Action, Result) technique, which serves as a framework for developing structured answers based on real-life experiences. Through explanations and case examples, participants are guided to be able to identify relevant experiences and package them into systematic and convincing answers.

Through interactive and applicable material delivery, participants gain a deeper understanding of strategies for navigating the selection process and job interviews in a professional and focused manner. Through this training, the Alumni & Career Center Department is expected to develop a comprehensive understanding of the interview process and optimize its role as a center for student career development, from the preparation stage to entry into the workforce.
The Alumni & Career Center Department is responsible for bridging students with the industry and plays a role in providing career education, soft skills training, CV and portfolio development assistance, interview simulations, and individual career consultations. The understanding gained from this training serves as a crucial foundation for developing a more structured interview preparation program, based on industry needs, and aligned with company recruitment standards. This allows the Alumni & Career Center Department to provide more targeted guidance, help students identify their potential, develop relevant competencies, hone their communication skills and self-confidence, and equip them with strategies for answering competency-based questions systematically and convincingly at each recruitment stage. This ensures that students are not only academically prepared but also professionally mature and ready to compete in the workforce.

Jakarta, 15 Februari 2026  – Dalam upaya meningkatkan kesiapan dan kemampuan peserta dalam melaksanakan setiap tahapan interview, Departemen Alumni & Career Center mengikuti kegiatan Pelatihan Interview Skills dengan fokus pada pemahaman proses seleksi dan asesmen, tata cara interview profesional, serta metode interview berbasis standar BEI (Behavioral Event Interview). Kegiatan pelatihan ini diikuti oleh 3 staf Departemen Alumni & Career Center yang dilaksanakan secara daring pada Hari Minggu, Tanggal 15 Februari 2026.

Pelatihan ini dirancang untuk memberikan pemahaman komprehensif mengenai tahapan rekrutmen yang umum diterapkan oleh perusahaan, mulai dari seleksi administrasi, tes kemampuan dasar, psikotes, asesmen kompetensi, hingga tahap wawancara akhir. Peserta dibekali dengan strategi menghadapi setiap tahapan secara efektif dan profesional.

Dalam sesi materi, narasumber memaparkan secara komprehensif mengenai proses seleksi dan asesmen yang umum diterapkan di berbagai perusahaan. Peserta diberikan pemahaman tentang tahapan rekrutmen yang dimulai dari seleksi administrasi, tes kemampuan dasar, psikotes, asesmen kompetensi, hingga wawancara akhir. Selain itu, dijelaskan pula berbagai jenis tes yang sering digunakan dalam proses rekrutmen serta strategi yang dapat dilakukan untuk mempersiapkan diri secara optimal pada setiap tahapan seleksi.

Selanjutnya, materi mengenai tata cara interview profesional disampaikan secara mendalam. Narasumber menjelaskan pentingnya persiapan sebelum wawancara, mulai dari riset perusahaan, pemahaman terhadap posisi yang dilamar, hingga kesiapan dokumen pendukung. Aspek etika, penampilan, bahasa tubuh, serta cara membangun komunikasi yang baik saat interview juga menjadi perhatian utama. Peserta dibekali teknik menjawab pertanyaan dengan percaya diri, runtut, dan relevan, sekaligus memahami berbagai kesalahan umum yang perlu dihindari agar dapat memberikan kesan profesional kepada pewawancara.

Pada sesi berikutnya, narasumber memperkenalkan metode Behavioral Event Interview (BEI) sebagai pendekatan wawancara berbasis kompetensi yang banyak digunakan perusahaan. Peserta mempelajari konsep dasar BEI serta teknik STAR (Situation, Task, Action, Result) sebagai kerangka dalam menyusun jawaban yang terstruktur dan berbasis pengalaman nyata. Melalui penjelasan dan contoh kasus, peserta diarahkan untuk mampu mengidentifikasi pengalaman yang relevan serta mengemasnya menjadi jawaban yang sistematis dan meyakinkan.

Melalui penyampaian materi yang interaktif dan aplikatif, peserta memperoleh pemahaman yang lebih mendalam mengenai strategi menghadapi proses seleksi dan wawancara kerja secara profesional dan terarah. Melalui pelatihan ini, Departemen Alumni & Career Center diharapkan semakin memahami proses interview secara komprehensif sehingga dapat mengoptimalkan perannya sebagai pusat layanan pengembangan karier mahasiswa, mulai dari tahap persiapan hingga memasuki dunia kerja.
Departemen Alumni & Carer Center memiliki tanggung jawab dalam menjembatani mahasiswa dengan dunia industri dan berperan dalam memberikan edukasi karier, pelatihan soft skills, pendampingan penyusunan CV dan portofolio, simulasi wawancara, hingga konsultasi karier secara individual. Pemahaman yang diperoleh dari pelatihan ini menjadi landasan penting dalam menyusun program pembekalan interview yang lebih terstruktur, berbasis kebutuhan industri, serta selaras dengan standar rekrutmen perusahaan. Dengan demikian, Departemen Alumni & Career Center dapat memberikan arahan yang lebih tepat sasaran, membantu mahasiswa mengidentifikasi potensi diri, mengembangkan kompetensi yang relevan, melatih kemampuan komunikasi dan kepercayaan diri, serta membekali mereka dengan strategi menjawab pertanyaan berbasis kompetensi secara sistematis dan meyakinkan pada setiap tahapan rekrutmen yang dihadapi, sehingga mahasiswa tidak hanya siap secara akademik, tetapi juga matang secara profesional dan siap bersaing di dunia kerja.
